Hello and welcome to The Black Dog Candle Shoppe! As a lifelong dog lover, I have had the joy of adopting several rescue dogs over the years, each of whom has stolen my heart and inspired my mission.
I’m also a proud breast cancer survivor, and my journey through this challenge has deepened my appreciation for life, resilience, and the importance of community. What started off as a side business has now blossomed into a full-time endeavor! We are proud to be featured in over 300 stores nationwide, and we actively partner with various shelters and rescues to help dogs in need find loving homes. Our commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond just our local community; we have also contributed to disaster relief efforts, including aid for the recent fires in Hawaii.

Why Black Dog
I chose the name **Black Dog Candle Shoppe** to highlight an important issue known as “Black Dog Syndrome.” Unfortunately, black dogs often face challenges in finding forever homes, typically being the last to be adopted. This leads to longer stays in shelters and a higher risk of euthanasia compared to other dogs.
As a proud mom to three black dogs, I am deeply passionate about changing this narrative. They inspire me every day with their love and loyalty, and I want to ensure that other black dogs have the chance to experience the same joy in loving homes.
In honor of these resilient animals, our mission extends beyond beautiful candles. With every candle sold, **10% of the proceeds** will be donated to the Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL) in Pontiac, Michigan. By supporting our shop, you’re not only bringing warmth and light into your home but also helping to create brighter futures for the dogs who need it most. Together, we can help change the narrative for these deserving pets, one candle at a time.
